Anton A. Ellert, 87 passed away on June 4,2011 at Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart, Florida surrounded by his family.

Born in Djokjakarta, Indonesia, he previously lived in Springfield, MA before moving to Stuart, Florida in 2000.

He was a veteran of the KNIL (Royal Dutch Indies Army) and a POW in Burma during WWII and retired from the Royal Dutch Army in 1959.

As an avid sports fan, he supported his children/grandchildren in youth sports and could always be seen rooting them on in the stands.

Mr. Ellert is lovingly survived by his wife of 63 years, Lilian D. (Van Kervel) Ellert of Stuart FL; daughter, Elize Beauvais of Springfield, MA; daughter Joyce Lemire (Richard) of Springfield, MA; Irene Balise (Robert) of West Springfield, MA; son Adolf Ellert (Kathleen) of Hobe Sound, FL; grandchildren, Scott, Joseph, Andrea, Melanie, Danielle, Nick, Andrew, Alex and Barret; great grandchildren, Cabielyn, Stuart, Kaliana, Evelyn and Owen.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 10:45am at Peace Presbyterian Church at 4881 SE Cove Road, Stuart FL.
